Our Ministries

We want to equip our entire congregation to live boldly for the sake of the Gospel. Find out more about the ministries we offer at Zion and ways you can get involved!

Children's Ministry

Our church invests in the lives of the children in our congregation, empowering them to advance the Kingdom of God in the next generation. Zion Christian Church offers Sunday school each week during service, helping kids engage with the Gospel in a way they can best understand it. We focus on creating an environment of discipleship for the little ones in our congregation through teaching, worship, prayer, and more. All children of all ages are welcome to attend events and activities offered at the church!

Please get in touch with our team if you'd like to get involved or would like more information about our children's ministry.

Men’s & Women’s Ministries

We are passionate about showing you who Jesus is. We recognize the importance of having a community of believers you can grow with during your walk with Christ. We offer many events each month that can help our church grow closer to God and each other.

During our weekly bible study, a handful of men and women come together through prayer, Scripture, and fellowship. Our monthly men’s breakfast and weekly women’s brunch give you the opportunity to spend time in fellowship, getting to know one another through good food and great conversation.

If you want to establish genuine relationships within a community of believers, connect with us at an event or get in touch with our team!

Community Outreach

Our heart at Zion Christian Church is that everyone would come to know Jesus. For people in our communities and those around the globe to know Christ, the Gospel must travel far beyond the four walls of our church.

God has laid both people and places on the hearts of our congregation to minister to. This has ultimately led us to establish regular outreach activities, such as outdoor evangelism, ministering to the Nepali Refugees in Carrick, becoming involved in prison ministry, supporting missionaries, and so much more.

If you feel led to get involved in an outreach opportunity or would like to learn more about the ones we have here at Zion, get in touch with our team!

Carrick Food Pantry

The Carrick Food Pantry at Zion Christian Church operates in partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. The food pantry is staffed by volunteers from across the Carrick community. Food is provided by a wonderful network of caring partners, including the Little Sisters of the Poor, the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, and St. Basil's Catholic Church. We set up the food pantry for the Carrick community on the third Saturday of each month.

The monthly distribution of food begins at 8:30 a.m. and continues as long as there are people in line. At times it closes as early as 9:30 am. Those needing food should plan to arrive at the Madeline Street entrance of Zion Christian Church by 9:00 a.m. We often have pet food available, too, but not always.

Those wishing to support the Carrick Food Pantry financially can mail checks to: Zion Christian Church, 2019 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210 and write "Carrick Food Pantry" in the memo line.
