Being a part of youth ministry has brought me so much joy. I'm less isolated and really enjoy caring for my local community.
We are excited about Alpha Youth, our ministry for upper middle school and high school students. Meeting twice each month on Friday evenings, Alpha Youth is a place where young people can grow, connect, and discover God’s purpose for their lives. Each gathering includes meaningful activities, short videos, conversations, and experiences that help build a strong foundation of Christian faith. Through interactive lessons, engaging discussions, fun group games, and a welcoming community, Alpha Youth provides a safe and encouraging environment for students to explore what it means to follow Jesus. We invite every young person to come, belong, and grow with us!
Our Ministry leader, Janet McCauley, has over 50 years of dance training. She has been a Professional Dance instructor for many years. She is trained in tap, ballet, jazz and lyrical throughout the Pittsburgh area. She is well known and well-loved in the Carrick area by the many students she has taught through the years in various Dance Schools.
Zion’s Dance Team’s focus is expressive worship dance. including expressive signing through Dance, billow cloth beauty, the use of streamers and much more.
Janet says, “I look forward to dance class each week with the youth which includes fun warm-ups and preparing dances that we do for our congregation on special occasions. My hope is my students will gain confidence, grace, discipline and a deeper connection to their faith through dance”.
We provide opportunities for the youth to serve others and develop leadership skills within the church and in the wider community.
